Senior Project Manager

Teal Drones, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is looking for a Senior Project Manager with experience in managing Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV) projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams through the entire project lifecycle, from concept development through to successful delivery and deployment. This role requires a good understanding of UAV technologies, systems integration, regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage complex UAV projects, ensuring that all project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met. This includes coordinating cross-functional teams, defining project scope, and overseeing all aspects of project execution.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Agile Methodology Implementation: Utilize Agile development techniques to manage project workflows, facilitating regular sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings. Ensure that Agile practices are effectively integrated into the project management process to enhance flexibility and responsiveness to change.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams. Maintain strong communication channels to ensure all parties are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical oversight and guidance on UAV systems, including design, development, testing, and integration. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical requirements are met and align with project objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. Stay informed about emerging regulations and incorporate them into project planning and execution.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met. Monitor project costs and make necessary adjustments to keep projects on track financially.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery. Proactively address issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of project deliverables. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Team Development: Mentor and support project team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Provide leadership in resolving conflicts and promoting collaboration among team members.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular project status reports, including performance metrics, financial summaries, and risk assessments. Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior project management role within the UAV or aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of UAV systems, including avionics, propulsion, control systems, and sensor integration. Experience with software and hardware development processes is essential.
  • Proven experience in applying Agile development techniques, such as Scrum or Kanban, within complex technical projects. Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and promote an Agile mindset across project teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations, airworthiness standards, and other relevant industry guidelines.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project challenges.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs, including client meetings, site visits, and regulatory engagements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around the office or project sites for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, as required for handling documents, equipment, or materials.
  • Adequate visual acuity to read detailed documents, technical drawings, and computer screens.
  • Manual dexterity for operating office equipment, including computers and telephones.
  • Vigilance and adherence to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of personnel and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ability to travel to various project sites, which may involve walking, standing, and occasional stair climbing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 – $124,000.00 per year
